Nike Knocks out Pac-Man

Manny Pacquio has had a rough past 12 months. He lost the bout of the century to Floyd “Money” Mayweather and suffered a significant injury afterwards. He is currently getting ready for a trilogy with Timothy Bradley in which the series is tied 1-1. In a recent inter view “Pac-Man” made a career ending type of comment.“Have you seen any animal having male-to-male or female-to-female relations?” Pacquiao said on a Filipino television station earlier this week. “If you have male-to-male or female-to-female [relationships], then people are worse than animals.” -Pacquio. Outrage and disappointment followed the derogatory statement. He quickly apologized saying “I’m sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I’ve hurt. I still stand on my belief that I’m against same sex marriage because of what the Bible says, but I’m not condemning LGBT. I love you all with the love of the Lord. God Bless you all and I’m praying for you”. Following the aftermath Nike subsequently ended it 8 year long endorsement tenure with “Pac-Man”. Nike’s representatives were as follows

“We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent,” the company said in a statement. “Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community.”

With all that being said, Manny has just suffered another knockout except this one is outside the ring. How do you feel about his comment? Should he have had his contract terminated? Please leave your comments, thoughts, or opinions below.
